Our growing Business Litigation Practice Group at McCormick Barstow in Fresno, CA is seeking a Business & Commercial Litigation Attorney who wants to take an active role on complex business disputes including contract litigation, partnership and shareholder disputes, intellectual property, and other commercial disputes, while receiving mentorship from experienced trial attorneys.

Our growing practice at McCormick Barstow in Modesto, CA is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to be part of a collaborative and dynamic team, working alongside experienced attorneys, and gaining invaluable courtroom exposure. Certified Paralegal 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Paralegal certificate required;
  2. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills;
  3. A firm understanding of civil litigation procedures;
  4. Litigation experience in insurance defense is a plus; and
  5. Experience reviewing medical records.

Job Expectations:

  1. Meet with clients to review and obtain documents;
  2. Ability to use various e-discovery tools;
  3. Review and analyze discovery responses and/or large amounts of data;
  4. Prepare meet and confer letters;
  5. Work with various experts;
  6. Draft objections and discovery responses to review with clients for final attorney review;
  7. Ability to bill 6.5 hours per day;
  8. Ability to work as a member of a practice group team, for multiple attorneys; and
  9. Pleasant and professional demeanor.

Litigation Secretary

Qualified candidates must be detail-oriented, have strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and heavy calendaring. Should be able to prioritize and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities will include administrative office duties as well as opening and processing of mail, calendaring, filing, scheduling depositions, preparation of client correspondence, processing of vendor bills, preparation of pleadings and discovery.

Preferred work experience would include:

  • 2+ years of previous legal secretary work.
  • Ability to type 65+ wpm;
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, address immediate concerns and manage expectations;
  • Excellent word processing skills utilizing Microsoft Word, iManage, CompuLaw and Excel;
  • Experience with e-filings with state and federal courts, trial preparation;
  • Basic knowledge of legal terminology.

Modesto Office

Litigation Paralegal (3-10 years of experience required)

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certificate required;

  • A firm understanding of family law procedures;
  • Deadline and detail-oriented.

Requirements:

  • Prior litigation experience required;
