At McCormick Barstow, we recognize the value of our support staff. Our firm culture and compensation plans are designed to attract paralegals and other support staff who are dedicated to professionalism, excellence, teamwork, and client service. All support staff positions are paid a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Paralegals and support staff are eligible to participate in the firms benefit packages, including medical, dental and vision insurance, and may participate in the Firm 401(k) retirement plan after completion of their first year with the firm.

Our Firm has a diverse staff which includes both long-term employees and those just embarking upon their careers. In many cases, staff members have more than ten years of Service. We believe this is a reflection of our firm’s culture and our many rewards for longevity. We are very selective in our hiring because we are looking for employees who are willing to work hard, be recognized for their contributions to the team and become involved in the many activities which support the firm’s culture. The firm employs state-of-the-art computer technology, uses current programs and applications and offers exceptional in-house training to staff and attorneys on the many legal industry standard software applications we use.

Hiring Process

If you are interested in applying for an administrative position at McCormick Barstow you should send a copy of your resume, cover letter, and salary history to Lisa Polm, Training & Staff Recruiting Specialist. We review each application we receive regardless of whether there is a position open at that time. We start the interview process with a phone screening interview. After the initial phone screening process, if you meet the basic qualifications for the position you will be asked to come in to the office for a full round of interviews. During your callback interview you will meet with anywhere from 2-5 people. After the callback interview there is a chance you will be asked to return to the office for a final round of interviews. Once we have completed the callback interview process with each applicant we will make our final decision and extend an offer to the most qualified candidate.

Prior to your interview you will be provided with a list of the individuals you will be meeting with. We encourage you to research the staff and attorneys so you can better understand their role at the firm. Bio’s for our attorneys can be found on our website.
