VICTORIA BERNHARDT TO BE NAMED PRO BONO ATTORNEY OF THE YEAR
Fresno, CA (April 23, 2013) – McCormick Barstow Sheppard Wayte & Carruth is pleased to announce that Victoria R. Bernhardt will be named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year at the Fresno County Bar Association’s Law Day event on May 8, 2013. The Law Day event will be held from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center.
Ms. Bernhardt has focused her practice since 1991 in the litigation field. She has a solid background in defense litigation of actions involving personal injury, product liability, slip and fall, premises liability, automobile accidents, trucking accidents, property damage, construction defect, wrongful death, brain injury, dog bite cases, uninsured and under-insured motorist cases, public entity cases, and crop damage cases, as well as contract disputes, indemnity, subrogation cases, and special investigation unit cases. She has taken and defended hundreds of depositions of every type of witness, from plaintiffs and defendants to expert doctors, economists, engineers and accident reconstructionists. Ms. Bernhardt has been successful in numerous civil jury trials in California's Superior and Municipal Courts.
Ms. Bernhardt has been a strong supporter and volunteer for Project First Step, a collaborative project between the Marjaree Mason Center, Central California Legal Services and Fresno County Women Lawyers, wherein attorneys assist victims of domestic violence in court to obtain permanent restraining orders. She is also active with the Central California Women’s Conference and American Cancer Society.
