Mr. Hawkins has been lead counsel in over 30 jury trials, covering a broad range of civil litigation.
ExperienceMr. Hawkins joined McCormick Barstow after completing law school in 1987. He was admitted to the California State Bar that same year. Mr. Hawkins’ jury trial experience includes the representation of clients in a broad range of civil disputes. He has represented clients before the Fifth District Court of Appeals and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. More recently he has been called upon to serve as a mediator in court referred and private mediations. In 1992 Mr. Hawkins relocated to Modesto, California, to open McCormick Barstow’s Modesto branch office. He is certified at Pepperdine as a mediator and is fluent in Spanish.
Mr. Hawkins is admitted to practice before all California State Courts, all U.S. District Courts for the State of California, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Hawkins is AV rated with Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Hawkins was selected for inclusion in the Northern California Super Lawyers list for his primary area of practice in Civil Litigation Defense.
Professional AssociationsMr. Hawkins is currently a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, and County of Stanislaus Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (2000) and the Association of Defense Counsel. He is a member of the Wray R. Ladine Inn of Court. He has served for five years on the board of the Stanislaus County Bar Association and served as president in 2004.
Community InvolvementMr. Hawkins has served as an officer in various charitable, religious, and civic organizations, including Boy Scouts of America where he is a board member.
