Experience

Ms. Byron has been with McCormick Barstow since 1982. Her practice has concentrated in civil matters, including federal civil rights, employment, and public entity liability. Ms. Byron represents employers in harassment/discrimination claims under California and federal law, including Title VII and Title IX of the Civil Rights Act, Americans With Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Rehabilitation Act of 1973, California’s Fair Employment & Housing Act, Unruh Civil Rights Act, and advises employers regarding compliance with California and federal law. In addition, Ms. Byron has represented clients in administrative proceedings involving the Department of Fair Employment and Housing and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She is a member of the firm’s Employment Law Practice Group. Ms. Byron was a senior research attorney with the Fifth District Court of Appeal.

Ms. Byron is admitted to practice in the State of California, U.S. District Court, Northern, Eastern and Central Districts of California, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
