Experience

Mr. Klug has limited his practice to Probate Law, Estate Planning Law and Trust Administration Law, and related tax matters for more than 35 years. In 1984-85, he served as Chairman of the California State Bar’s Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section, an association of some 4,000 estate planning attorneys and probate judges. Mr. Klug has assisted the California Law Revision Commission in revising the California Trust Law and in re-writing the California Probate Code. He was the primary author of California’s Estate Tax Apportionment law; his proposal to streamline the law dealing with contingent and disputed debts in probate was enacted into law by the legislature in 1991. He has been certified as a specialist in Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.

Mr. Klug is AV rated with Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Klug was selected for inclusion in the Northern California Super Lawyers list (2008-2010) for his primary area of practice in Estate Planning & Probate.

Professional Associations

Mr. Klug is a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the State Bar of California, a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and a member of the American Law Institute. He served as president of the Fresno Estate Planning Council (2005-06).

Mr. Klug has written and lectured extensively in the field of estate planning and taxation for California Continuing Education of the Bar, UCLA-CEB Estate Planning Institute, USC Tax Institute, Hawaii Tax Institute, Texas Tax Institute, Southern California Tax & Estate Planning Forum, and American Bar Association.
