FIRM ATTORNEYS WIN APPEAL REVERSING JUDGMENT IN LARGE TRUST DISPUTE
Tuesday, June 24, 2014
McCormick Barstow partners Scott M. Reddie and Timothy J. Buchanan have obtained a complete victory in an appeal they filed for a client, who at trial had suffered a large money judgment in a family trust dispute. The Fifth District Court of Appeal agreed that the judgment of the Superior Court against the firm’s client could not stand because there was insufficient evidence presented at trial that the trustee had breached duties he owed as trustee to the trust’s beneficiaries. The Court ordered a full reversal, directing that judgment be entered in favor of the client and awarding the client costs on appeal. Harris v. Bonander, No. F05732.
Mr. Reddie is certified as a specialist in appellate law by the California State Bar. He and Mr. Buchanan are a part of the firm’s Appellate Litigation Group.
